THE WO/MEN’S ALLIANCE FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANAWAMM 309 Cedar Street #39, Santa Cruz, CA 95060phone 831.425.0580 fax 831.425.0582
Dear Community Partner; July 2005 We are the Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical Marijuana, WAMM a hospice type collective serving the community at no cost. WAMM has been the target of the DEA in recent years. Following the Supreme Court’s decision and Congress’ unwillingness to protect sick and dying Americans focuses their aim again upon us. In a preemptive attempt to influence the perception of the federal government we are planning a community event. Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical Marijuana will host the WAMM March for Medical Marijuana on Saturday, July 16th, 2005 at 12 noon on the Pacific Garden Mall, in downtown Santa Cruz. Today we ask for some level of support from your organization, because without our community we cannot withstand the fury of this administration. Please take the time to see how you may assist us in our struggle against this harsh injustice. Here’s how you can best support our efforts to maintain liberty.
The March will begin at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Cathcart Streets walking north and proceed to Locust Street, then assemble at Santa Cruz City Hall where a press conference will be held at 1pm. We are expecting more than 1,000 people to participate in this demonstration of community solidarity opposing the recent decision of the Supreme Court and of Congress that leaves sick and dying Californians vulnerable to persecution from the federal government. In a symbolic act of compassionate access WAMM patient members will lead the March carrying live medical marijuana plants. This solemn event will honor the 154 WAMM members who have died since our inception in 1993. We hope that your group will send supporters to march with us. Please contact us regarding your participation. Staging for the event will be at 11 am (promptly), meeting at the corner of Pacific and Cathcart streets. We also feature a link from to a website hosted by WAMM that celebrates any business who donates for the benefit of non-profits and at your request, we will gladly add your name to the growing directory of businesses inspired to “make the world a better place. “ BusinessesWhoCare.com Share this with your friends and email list, pretty please. And we would be most grateful if you would post it on your site or send it out when you post “your news.” Thanks so much for your help. Kindly, Valerie Corral, Director |
